Diploma in Air Cargo:

Program Overview

This IATA diploma will give you a well-rounded introduction to today’s complex air cargo industry, helping you get a head start in your career at an airline, freight forwarder or ground handling company. You will learn about the key stakeholders in the air cargo supply chain, how they operate, and the skill sets you need to stand out as a desirable candidate.

Air Cargo Diploma is designed for:

  • High school graduates with aspiration of taking up responsibilities in the air cargo and freight forwarding industry
  • Cargo agent and air freight forwarder sales and marketing staff
  • Airline and manufacturer reservations and acceptance staff
  • Cargo agent, freight forwarder and airline junior management

To receive the diploma candidates must complete 4 courses (3 required courses and 1 elective course)

A passing mark of 60% is required on all assignments and exams. A special distinction is awarded to candidates who obtain a distinction in all, or all but one, of all course exams and assignments that make up this Diploma.

REQUIRED:

Cargo introductory course: Learner will learn about basic IATA cargo rules and procedures, how freight forwarders and airline cargo units operate, plus much more

Air Cargo Advanced Marketing course: This course uses our expertise to provide knowledge on cargo rating principles and Air Waybill completion, as well as basic marketing procedures.

Cargo Supply Chain and Transport Modes course: This module will improve your knowledge regarding supply chain management, logistics and different modes of transport.

ELECTIVE:

Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) Initial Category 3 Course: This course fulfills ICAO and IATA training requirements and qualifies you to handle and process dangerous goods for carriage of by air for a 24-month period.

Cargo Security Awareness: Builds your awareness in air cargo security regulations and the basic principles of security enforcement in the cargo environment.

Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) Recurrent Category 3 with DGR Manual: Completing this course fulfills ICAO and IATA training requirements and extends your qualification to handle and process dangerous goods for an additional 24 months.

Live Animals Regulations (LAR) course:  Use IATA’s Live Animals Regulations manual to ship live animals safely and to comply with industry standards.
